The Universal Protocol for Accommodations in Reading (uPar) is a product provided by Everway LLC (“Everway” “we,” “our,” and “us”). Users of uPar include students, educators and applicable staff. The information processed by uPar will vary depending on the user.

The site, universalpar.com, is solely used by Educators and Administrators, who have an Organizational Account. The following privacy policy covers what we collect on our servers and why, what we may do with that information, and how that information is handled for such Educators. By 'Eductors' we refer to those staff who, in an educational setting, directly facilitate students' learning in K-12 settings, such as teachers and teaching assistants. By 'Administrators' we refer to those staff who support in the coordination of learning such as district administrators. Information provided is subject to our Terms of Service. Any capitalized terms used but not defined within this Privacy Policy have the meaning given to them in our Terms of Service.
Depending on the purpose, certain data is processed:
For a licence to be issued, only an email address is required. Customer Data is stored in our CRM (Salesforce), and this information is stored in Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers. Data is retained and deleted 30 days after the licence lapses.
Login can occur via two ways: single sign-on or creating a login. For authentication please refer to the uPar data pack. A login account can be created with a username, email and password. Data is retained and deleted 30 days after the licence lapses.
uPar utilises sub processors to perform some of its features. The sub process may process personal data in performing their functions. uPars sub processors can be viewed here. This is a public facing document which is updated regularly.
Educators can opt to input their name. Doing so makes ease for Administrators to navigate and manage Educators' accounts.
Everway does not sell, share, rent or otherwise disclose your information collected by universalpar.com. Information is only disclosed when:
We do not monitor or view any Personally Identifiable information or content stored in the universalpar.com. Below lists the limited circumstances where your information may be accessed by our employees.
Aggregate, non-identifiable information is solely used to enhance universalpar.com and support implementation.
Data is stored on servers located in the United States. If you live outside of the United States and have laws governing data collection and use that differ from U.S. law, then you acknowledge and agree that you are transferring your Personal Information outside of those regions to the United States and that, by providing your Personal Information, you consent to that transfer.
All data stored on our servers is encrypted. All transmission of information is encrypted and protected using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Passwords are stored using a hash function.
In the event that your Personal Information may be compromised, we will attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps.
All data is removed within 30 days of an account's termination.
We use Cookies only to enhance performance.
We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time, but you will be notified on universalpar.com's login page or by some other means such as email. We will not change how we use any Personal Information in any material way without providing notice of the change via email to you and obtaining consent to any new uses. If you do not agree with the new policies, you may reject them, but you will need to terminate your account and/or stop using universalpar.com. Your continued use constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
